Sip bubbly and snuggle up together under a warm blanket as the sun sinks into the sea and the sky puts on a dramatic show of colour. Bliss.
Overlooking the sweep of St Ives Bay, Godrevy beach has it all – the views, the golden sand and the lighthouse on its own little island. A popular spot for locals to watch the last sunset of the year on New Year’s Eve and with good reason, this spot sees more than its fair share of spectacular sunsets.
Sennen Cove
Perched right on the tip of England, you have Cape Cornwall stretching out on one side and Land’s End on the other. In summer dolphins often play in the bay, what better place for a sunset?
Repeatedly voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and sat on the west side of the Lizard, this cove and its craggy islands are perfectly set to watch the sun go down. Just above the cove is an eco-friendly cafe where you might be lucky enough to grab a bite before natures show starts.
Trencrom
For breathtaking views across both coasts at once make the climb up Trencrom Hill, we promise it’ll be worth it. Standing 550ft above St Ives Bay on the north coast and Mounts Bay on the south coast, a sunset here is one of the most special in Cornwall. Watch out for giants – this was home to Trecobben, the brother of the giant who built St Michael’s Mount.
Stroll into town and catch the ferry over to St Mawes. With plenty of pubs and restaurants, you’ll easily spend an evening tucking into tasty treats and a sneaky pint or two before watching the sun set behind Pendennis Castle.
