ActivitiesWhile a good amount of fitness is required for this bike ride, the paths are mostly flat, so you’ll needn’t fret about resistance training too much on this one. The views are spectacular, and you’ll even come across a garden hedge maze and Maenporth’s stunningly reflective sunsets at Maenporth’s coastal path peak view.
Cycling across Swanpool’s smooth coastal paths, you’ll see ducks, a mini golf centre, of course, Swanpool’s breath-taking coastline, and even an old Victorian graveyard - (if history fascinates you at all!) Stop to refuel at Swanpool’s beach café for a hot mocha before carrying on the ride through the aforementioned areas until you reach a steep incline. It is then that you will reach Penmere, get those legs working up the hill and before you know it you’ll be on a refreshing downhill ride to Falmouth town centre.
The Stihians’s Reservoir is man-made, and a dammed reservoir dating back to the 1960’s! With 274 acres of land to bike o r hike, this is the perfect sea-view adventure for these cooler post-summer days with plenty to watch, whether that's sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, SUP and canoeing activities on the lake from the water sports centre, or plenty of bird watching and fly fishing to be enjoyed.
This cycle is not for the weak! You’ll need to make sure you’re well hydrated and have a had your full Cornish breakfast before embarking on this journey.
