Celebrate the start of the native oyster dredging season at Falmouth Oyster Festival 2026, one of Cornwall’s most loved food festivals.

From 8–11 October, Events Square fills with the sights, sounds and flavours of Cornwall. Enjoy native Fal oysters, fresh local seafood, live cookery demonstrations, talented makers, music and entertainment, all set beside Falmouth Harbour.

An Evening With the Oystermen

Wednesday 7 October | 6:30pm
£25 per person

Begin the celebrations before the festival officially opens with an evening devoted to the oystermen. Every oyster served in Falmouth has a story, and it belongs to the people who bring them in. Join us for an evening of film, images and conversation about the oystermen's history and the challenges they face today.

Arrive to a complimentary glass of wine and seafood canapés, then taste the oysters themselves, just as they come. Later, a guest wine specialist guides you through four wines, each paired with seafood. With live music from Toby Webb setting the mood throughout the evening.

St Michaels Seafood Feast Night

Gather around a long table for a generous celebration of Cornish seafood and good company.

Arrive to a glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne or Cloudy Bay Pelorus, with St Ives jazz and soul singer Jo McNab setting the tone as the evening begins. At the table, enjoy a complimentary glass of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc alongside a spectacular seafood platter, before a whole roasted premium fish is presented. Finish with petit fours and the kind of warm, convivial atmosphere that makes a shared feast so memorable.

Sea Shanty Sunday Lunch

Join St Michaels Resort’s Jordan Wilkes on the Falmouth Oyster Festival main stage alongside acclaimed chef Chris Eden for a live cookery demonstration.

Together, they will celebrate the wonderful seafood and Cornish ingredients that make this part of the world so special. Expect plenty of cooking inspiration, local stories and delicious ideas to take home.

Jordan has been cooking for 15 years, but his love of food started much earlier. At 15, he joined his brother in the kitchen to make a curry, discovering a love for spices, flavour and the magic of cooking.

Born and raised in Redruth, Jordan has since explored different kitchens and techniques, developing a particular passion for fish. He was fascinated by the skill of breaking down a whole fish and set out to master it himself.

He believes the best cooking is often the simplest, allowing fresh ingredients to shine. His favourite? Sea bass with lemon and herb new potatoes and tenderstem broccoli. Though nothing beats his mum’s curry.

A self-confessed “man of the sea”, Jordan is happiest working with fresh Cornish produce and bringing it to the plate.

Entry to the daytime festival in Events Square is free, so you’re welcome to wander down, take in the harbourside atmosphere and let Falmouth do what it does best. Selected evening entertainment and individual events do carry their own tickets, so it’s worth a quick look at what’s on if you fancy staying into the evening.

We’re joining the celebration in true St Michaels style, with two evenings built around Cornwall’s finest catch. Oysters & Champagne brings together the freshest local oysters with something cold and celebratory in hand, while our Seafood Feast Night is a proper sit-down affair, with generous plates, seasonal flavours and good company around the table.
