Why stay with the festival’s exclusive hotel partner?
Few traditions are as closely tied to a place as oysters are to Falmouth. In the waters of the Fal, native oysters are still dredged under sail and oar, a tradition that has shaped the town’s maritime and food culture for generations.
Each October, Falmouth comes together to celebrate the start of the native oyster season. Producers, chefs and live music fill Events Square for four days.
As the festival’s exclusive hotel partner, St Michaels hosts its own Oyster Festival experiences too. Begin before the festival opens with An Evening with the Oystermen on Wednesday 7 October, in association with Veuve Clicquot: film, conversation and native oysters served just as they come. On Saturday 10 October, gather around a long table for the St Michaels Seafood Feast Night, then close the weekend with a banquet-style Sea Shanty Sunday Lunch on 11 October. Our chef Jordan Wilkes also cooks live on the main stage with Chris Eden on Saturday at 2pm.
