Space, Sea Views and a Resort on Your Doorstep

Family self catering apartments in Falmouth beside Gyllyngvase Beach, with pool access and a resort on the doorstep. Book direct.

A family holiday works when everyone has room to breathe. Little ones need somewhere quiet to nap after the beach, older children want a corner of their own, and you want a proper kitchen so breakfasts can be slow and suppers easy, without booking a table for every meal.

That is the thinking behind our luxury sea view apartments beside Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth. If you are looking for family self catering in Falmouth, here is what a stay looks like and why it works so well as a family base in Cornwall.

What self catering options are best for families in Falmouth?

Falmouth has plenty of choice, from cottages in the town to holiday parks on the outskirts. For a self catering family holiday in Falmouth, three questions matter most:

Is there enough space for everyone to relax?

How easy is it to get to the beach?

What is there to do when the Cornish weather changes its mind?

Our apartments answer all three. Choose from one to four bedrooms across The Liner, The Treehouse and The Captain’s Apartments, each with a fully equipped kitchen and generous living space. Many have sea views and a private balcony, deck or courtyard, and The Liner sits right above Gyllyngvase Beach.

When you want more than the apartment, St Michaels is next door. Spend a rainy afternoon in the indoor pool at the Health Club, unwind at the spa or take a night off from cooking at one of our two restaurants, then walk back to your own front door.

It is self catering with hotel facilities: the freedom of your own Falmouth apartment, with a resort close at hand whenever you want it.

Family apartments in Cornwall with space to live your way

Every one of our apartments has its own character, but they share the details that make family life easier on holiday:

Fully equipped kitchens for breakfast on your own schedule, picnics packed for the beach and suppers in after a long day outside

Open plan living, with floor to ceiling windows in The Liner that fill the space with coastal light

Outdoor space, from sea view balconies to private decks and courtyards, for morning coffee while the children are still in their pyjamas

One to four bedrooms, so couples with a baby, families of five and three generations travelling together can all find the right fit

Larger apartments work particularly well for grandparents joining the trip. Everyone has their own room to retreat to, and the open plan living space becomes the place you gather at the end of the day.

Are there family sized apartments near Falmouth beaches?

Our apartments sit beside Gyllyngvase Beach, known locally as Gylly, a sandy Blue Flag beach that is popular with swimmers, paddleboarders and families with buckets and spades. Bring the beach towels down in the morning, pop back for lunch, then head out again when the tide turns.

Gylly is one of several beaches along Falmouth’s seafront, and at low tide there are rockpools to explore. The harbour town is a short walk along the seafront, where you will find the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, independent shops and boat trips across the water to St Mawes.

For Falmouth family accommodation, it is hard to find a location that asks less of you. No car journeys to the beach, no parking queues, no carrying everything half a mile across a car park.

What family amenities are included in Cornwall self catering stays?

Most self catering stays end at your front door. At St Michaels, your stay connects you to the whole resort.

The pool. Apartment guests have full access to the Health Club, including the indoor pool. It is the ideal answer to a rainy afternoon, with dedicated children’s swim times every day.

Classes. With more than 100 fitness classes each week, parents can fit in a morning session while the holiday moves at its own pace.

The spa. Apartment guests receive a discount on the hydrothermal spa experience at the St Michaels Spa. Take it in turns: one of you at the pool with the children, the other enjoying some time in the hydrothermal pool. It is the kind of small pause that makes a family holiday feel restorative for the adults too.

Dining. On the nights you would rather not cook, Brasserie on the Bay and Nourish are a few steps away, with 10% off for apartment guests. Good food, no washing up, and a short stroll home to bed.

Plan your family stay at St Michaels

Whether you are planning October half term, a festive family gathering or next summer’s beach holiday, Gyllyngvase has its own rhythm in every season. Quieter autumn mornings for rock pooling, crisp winter walks along the coast path, long summer evenings on the sand.

Booking direct with St Michaels gives you the full choice of luxury sea view apartments and dates, and our crew can help you find the right apartment for your family.
